Soliloquy Shmiloquy!

All this time I thought I was just talking to myself here, really. Well, I know my best friend reads my blog (even though half the time I ramble on about nothing and usually the same nothing she's already heard about via telephone) but other than Michelle, who wants to listen to me? But then, over the past couple days, I've received a couple comments from some new blog friends! Awwwww, shucks.

Karin at Creative Chaos commented on my jewelry. .. Wow! I visit her blog atleast daily to see all the beautiful crafts she makes and she constantly inspires me. If only there were more hours in the day to craft like she does. Who am I kidding, if there were more hours in the day, I'd just spend more hours ooh-ing and ahh-ing on her blog. Anyway, her projects are stunning. I love her handmade crowns, a project I WILL get to one of these days, and all her other paper crafts are so beautifully put together. I wish I were that talented. She dabbles in a little bit of everything, from jewelry to awesome birthday parties and she's hilariously funny.

Hey, Karin, this photo is for you... only you will appreciate it!

And... Heidi over at Mt. Hope Academy stopped by my blog! I can't remember for sure how I stumbled across Heidi's blog, probably from another blogger's favorites, but I love her blog and she is one cool lady! She decorates, she scrapbooks, she homeschools using the Well Trained Mind also and she is such a book lover. She has lots and lots of great book recommendations on her blog for homeschooling or just reading aloud to the kids. She even breaks down her plan for the school year, which, if you're a beginner homeschooler, would be a real encouragement. She has 3 beautiful boys which she photographs all the time. Oh yah, and she's a very talented photographer. I just drool at some of the photographs she takes. Like the recent ones she took of the trip with the kids to the Lupine field. It makes me want to throw my dinky little camera in the trash can. How embarrassing for someone as talented as Heidi to look at my photographs. But, she does give me something to aspire to. Really though, it's not me, it's my camera. ;)

Both of these ladies' blogs are on my favorites. Now you know why!

Here's what we have been up to lately... and why I still have nothing new to show on this so called "crafting" blog.

Saturday: Going to the Georgia Renaissance Festival for the first time...
One word: Interesting.

This guy's name was, believe it or not, "Ick, king of the trolls". I'm talking about the one on the right. The other 2 came with me.
Come to think of it, Ick is a pretty good adjective to describe the festival.

Have a great night!

Oh my my gosh!!!!! That picture!!!! I'm rolling right now....When was it taken? Too cute! thank you so much for your super duper kind words!! You have to know that it made my day!!! Also, you're pretty lucky you have your friends read your blog....mine never even look at it. My best friend Gail says that if she needs to know anything she'll just call me (we talk almost everyday) I have to force her to read it... :) Anyway, I really do love your earrings...They are beautiful! I'll talk to you soon! Karin

Wow! What nice things to say! I'm really just 'me' ya know? If only everyone could see my messy house and the sad dinner I made and the 300 pictures that *didn't* turn out, LOL. You are very kind, though, and I'm always glad when I can help out with inspiration or homeschool plans.

That Renaissance Festival looks very interesting. Hmmm. Doesn't look much like the one we went to last fall. Bet there was some great people-watching opportunities. :)
