I have been reading several books on spiritual warfare lately. Like The Marketing of Evil which talks about how the media and Pseudo-experts, as they're called in the book, try to sell us corruption and lies disquised as freedom. It's very eye opening, to say the least. I highly recommend it. Then there's my latest bible study by Kay Arthur called Lord, Is it Warfare? Teach Me to Stand. Her book, which I'm only on the 2nd chapter in our bible study, teaches you how to recognize and understand the spiritual struggles that christians are up against and the tactics the enemy will use to keep you from being an effective christian. You see, the devil will do anything to keep our focus off of our spiritual walk with the Lord. He, the devil, will keep us busy with our jobs, with our friends, our hobbies, with our kids, taking them from activity to activity, our computers, our television, anything... and if we're not careful to keep our focus on God, we will find ourselves getting further and further away from Him until one day we wake up and we don't feel His presence in our lives anymore. It's happened to me. More than once. But I'm learning to recognize the enemy's methods and "put on my full armor of God so that I will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil" Ephesians 6:11.
I love how God affirms your quiet times with Him by the little things that happen throughout your day. At church this morning, the youth group acted out a skit like the one in this video below. Someone sent me this video through email a while back and it brought tears to my eyes. Today was no different. I really hate crying in church! I cry at every baptism, dedication, alter call, you name it. So get out the kleenex and watch this video.
If you need Jesus to come to your rescue and help you stand up against the temptations and schemes of the enemy, all you have to do is ask Him. God really does care for us and He wants to be in our lives if we will only invite Him. The Bible says all we have to do is ask Him to forgive us of our sins and believe that He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so that we can spend eternity with Him in heaven. That's all we have to do. Don't let the enemy tell you any differently. God loves you!

I am a reader of Kay Arthur and Marvin Rosenthal.
Another excellent book to add to your reading is called "Same Kind of Different As Me" by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. Check our their web-site which is the same as the title of the boddk. It has forever changed my life.
