So I better get crackin' on some new crafting posts. Truth is, I have been so busy just getting through the days until Christmas that I haven't done much crafting. There have been dentist appointments, eye appointments, Lego Robotic competitions, Gymnastics classes, homeschool field trips, Christmas parties, Christmas plays, Christmas shopping, Christmas cleaning, Christmas wrapping, Christmas decorating, Christmas cooking... ok, you get the picture. You know exactly what I am talking about too! But, it will all be over in a week and I feel like I haven't had a chance to really enjoy it.
But I do have one project that I have been holding out on! I remember as a little girl that I had this book called All About Me. It had questions on every page about what color hair I had, what color eyes I had, how many teeth I had... it even let me draw a picture of myself on one of the pages. I loved that book so much that I would erase my answers and keep changing them over the years. What I would give to have that book today and see how I answered all the questions. I would probably roll over laughing.
So, I thought how neat it would be for my students in my co-op class to make one for themselves. Their parents loved it and I am planning to give my mother one from each of my children for Christmas to keep on her coffee table.
What I did was take 5 envelopes and glued the flaps to the other envelope which created an accordian like the one below with pockets.
So each slot had a theme. One was About Me - she answered questions about what her name is, how old she is, how much she weighs, how many teeth she has, anything about her. The other pockets were "About My Family", "About My Friends", and lastly "My Favorites".

you're pretty impressive to come up with these ideas! I think I'm going to try it out for sure! Your kids are super lucky that they have a mom that does such fun stuff with them.

What an ADORABLE idea! I'd love to do one every year -- so clever! Thanks for sharing!
'WOW' is exactly right! Congrats on being featured! You totally deserve it, what with your fab craftiness and all!
Great idea for the book about me. I especially like your trick of gluing the envelopes together (easy is good!). I think I'll use this for the family reunion next summer. Tamryn
You've made some wonderful projects - thanks so much for sharing them on your blog. My kids are all grown, but I'm collecting ideas for being a fun grandma someday, and your ideas are perfect!
Great blog, thanks!
I'm coming over from TCB. I just love love love the wonderful things that Kim posted about your crafts. Money is so tight right now and Christmas gifts are just getting hard without much money. I'm all about making some cute crafty loveliness and your site posted so many wonderful, creative ideas in me. I've got a craft room full of papers and such. I can't wait to start playing! Thank you so much. I feel like you saved Christmas for me.
You have some very adorable creations. Perhaps you should do you own paper or fabric designs to be marketed.
